I waited in the classroom for fifteen minutes after school ended, but no one showed-up. If you have any questions, you can email me anytime before 10 pm.

As a reminder, the Midterm will consist of questions only from the Midterm Review Sheet and Homework 24. There will be matching and multiple choice questions. All definition are matching, but don't forget to study the definitions on Homework 24.

Please bring me your calculator fifteen minutes before the exam. If you do not bring me your calculator before the exam. Checking your calculator will cut into your exam time.

For Monday, please read section 1 of chapter 24. Here is the Midterm Review Sheet if you did not receive one today. Fifteen of the thirty questions on the sheet will be on your midterm. The other five questions on the midterm will be from chapter 24.

For the quiz tomorrow, understand the octet rule, ion formation, the ionic bond, the crystal lattice, electrolytes, physical properties of ionic compounds, energy of ionic bond formation, the similarity between ionic and metallic bonding, the electron sea model, metallic bond, alloys, substitutional alloys, interstitial alloys, writing chemical formulas of ionic compounds, and naming ionic compounds.

The quiz on chapter 7 will be administered during class on Friday. Tomorrow is a review day, so please bring any questions. The quiz will cover the following topics: the octet rule, ion formation, ionic bonds and their energy, physical structure and properties of ionic compounds, chemical formulas of ionic compounds, and names of ionic compounds. To do well on this quiz, understand the lecture notes and homework problems.

There will be a quiz tomorrow on the sixteen ions that I mentioned in class.

The rest of the chapter 7 homework is also due tomorrow and includes problems 19-33.

The quiz on chapter 7 will take place during class on Friday. Thursday is a review day.

Please read section 4 of chapter 7 for class tomorrow.

If you forgot to turn-in your reworked problems from the exam today, you may give them to me tomorrow for less points.

The writing assignment on the nanotechnology guest lecture is due tomorrow.

There will be a quiz on Wednesday on polyatomic ions. I will give you the name of the ion, and you must provide the formula. In addition to the polyatomic ions on the chart, the quiz will also include the silver ion, zinc ion, and hydride ion.

The homework for chapter 7 will be due on Wednesday. The homework problems so far are 19-33.
